On behalf of the Francigenaways.com team I would like to wish a very happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year to all our of clients, friends and families. I hope that 2020 is full of new adventures and happiness.
2019 has been another brilliant year for the team and we’d like to thank you sincerely for your continued and enthusiastic support.
The team has grown again this year and we have been delighted to welcome some new faces to the office. We traveled across the globe to spread word of the Camino de Santiago and the wonderful ancient trails. We’ve met many of you at our monthly webinars that were attended by pilgrims from throughout the world. We also had the opportunity to meet lots of clients at trade shows in the USA, Ireland, UK and beyond!
In May, a group of CaminoWays.com staff traveled to Tralee to take part in another edition of the Kerry Camino Walking Festival, which we proudly support every year. In addition to the great walking trails and superb views, there was a festive atmosphere for the whole weekend. We are already counting the days until next year’s festival.
June 2019 was very exciting for CaminoWays.com as we launched our Spanish website. We are now serving clients in Spanish and Latin markets in their native language. Our multilingual team are delighted to meet new pilgrims from new countries.
In September, as part of the Greenlife Tours family, we were thrilled to launch a new brand, CanariaWays.com. CanariaWays.com features hiking adventures in the Canary Islands. After more than a few trips to the Canaries (which we all really enjoyed) we finalized our routes and handpicked our hotels. If you are looking for something a little different in 2020, check out these spectacular hikes.
October saw the birth of a very special tour with CaminoWays.com. We partnered with our good friends Justin and Patrick of ‘I’ll Push You’ fame to launch the very first Accessible Camino. Our team traveled with 11 people of varying mobility aswell as some helpers along the Camino Frances. The trip was a huge success and we will be seeing Justin, Patrick and their crew next year for more of the same.
The CaminoWays.com team also had a busy October. We sent teams of staff members to travel in Gran Canaria, along the Camino del Norte, the Via de La Plata, the Camino Portugues and the Sea of Arousa. These scouting missions help us cement relationships with our providers on the ground, aswell as learn as much as we can about the trails. Oh and also, we just love walking!
For 2019, we devoted our Greenlife Fund to focus on reducing single use plastic. From January 2019, all CaminoWays.com clients had the option to include a practical refillable foldable water bottle as part of their tour package, for the symbolic amount of €1. The campaign was a huge success thanks to our dedicated team and our environmentally conscious clients.
We are really excited about 2020 and we are looking forward to helping you plan your travels. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and an adventurous New Year on behalf of the team!
